DEVELOPMENT OF MOVEMENT EDUCATION PROGRAMME AND ITS IMPACT ON ACADEMIC ACHIVEMENT

ABSTRACT

The subjects for this study 168 boys and girls were selected. These subjects, between age of five to six years who were studying in five selected private primary schools in Greater Aimer (Raj.). From the attendance registrars of first grade class the age was calculated separately for the boys and girls. On the basis of calculated age, groups were formed. These were the age, in the range of 5-6. The range of 5-6 years treated as a six year for both boys and girls. A pre-test was conducted for the boys and girls for 5-6 age level. In this pre-test for the  for the mental test, the marks of first terminals exams of all five subjects (Hindi, English, Math’s, Science, G.K.) were collected. After pre test movement education programme has been conducted for three months. In this movement education programme for the age of five to six students, following movement education programme were conducted Fundamental Motor Movements, Body Management Movements, Manipulative Movements, Rhythmic Movements, Gymnastic Movements, Personal Challenge Movements and Game Movements. After conducting the movement education programme, a post test (academic) was conducted for collecting data.  To calculate the effect of movement education programme on mental fitness of student’s pair t- test was applied.
