ABSTRACT
Present study was selected to analyze the Incentive Motivation in Indian Men Senior National Volleyball Players. Study was conducted on Twenty Senior Nationals Volleyball men players. The players were randomly selected from best four teams of the poles of Senior National Volleyball Championship held at Gwalior, MP. The variable selected for the study was incentive motivation (consisting of seven different systems i.e. excellence, power, sensation, independence, prestige, affiliation, and aggression). The collection of relevant data was based on the test battery i.e. Alberta Incentive Motivation Inventory. Mean scores and standard deviation were calculated in order to study the Incentive Motivation in men senior national volleyball players. Player’s profile has been discussed in term of each player’s relative standing on various psychological variables which were designed on the modal developed by Waston et.al. To standardize the result into manageable intervals are mean scale was taken for each test, and then one half standard deviation intervals were used to create intervals above and below the mean score. The intervals derived from the procedure include high and low medium (One half standard deviation above and below the mean); high and low (half to one standard deviation above and below the mean); and finally very high and very low (one standard deviation above or below the mean). Incentive motivation among male Senior National Volleyball players was fairly high in the system of excellence, power, independence, affiliation and success.
