ABSTRACT
The purpose of the study was to compare the reaction time between morning and evening or find out the best reaction time performance during the Match Practice session for Madhya Pradesh state hockey academy girls. For the purpose of the study 30 female Madhya Pradesh State Hockey Academy Girls, and also they was resting in Madhya Pradesh State Hockey Academy girls hostel, who had participated in different National as well state level tournaments were selected as the subject for this study. The necessary data on the reaction time of right leg and left leg and right hand and left hand movement were collected at morning and evening on match practice sessions of one day. The reaction time was recorded with the help of Anand’s Electronic Reaction Time chronoscope. To examine the significance of difference in the diurnal variation or find out the best performance among the reaction time of selected hands and legs movement, independent ‘t’ test was applied. The hypothesis was tested at 0.05 level of significance. A significant difference in reaction time of left leg between morning and evening was obtained. An insignificant difference between the reaction time of right hand, left hand and right leg in morning and afternoon was also obtained. The significant difference in morning and evening season may probably be due to weather condition. When the test was administered during morning season the weather was pretty cold and which must have played an important role in the difference in reaction time Insignificant difference exists between reaction time of right hand, left hand and right leg at morning and evening. On the other hand a significant difference exists between reaction time of left leg at morning and evening for Madhya Pradesh State Hockey Academy Girls.
