A STUDY ON THE LEVEL OF PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING BETWEEN YOGA

AND MALLAKHAMBA TRAINEES

Abstract

Psychological well-being (PWB) is defined as one’s level of psychological happiness/health, encompassing life satisfaction, and feelings of accomplishment. The present study aimed at compare the psychological well-being between yoga and mallakhamba trainees of Dakshinakannada and Udupi district.For the collection of data total 80 male trainees were selected as subject, 40 from yoga and mallakhamba respectively. The selected subjects were undergoing the training since minimum of 7 years with different coaches of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District. The age ranges between 14 to 18 years.The mean, standard deviation and z-test was carried out with significance level of 0.05.The result shows that there is significant different in 3 subscales namely autonomy, the positive relations with others and the purpose in life. In Remaining subscales there is no significant difference between both the groups.
