COMPARISON OF GENERAL SOCCER ABILITY BY USING MCDONALD SOCCER TEST BETWEEN HIGH FIT TRIBAL AND HIGH FIT NONTRIBAL SOCCER PLAYERS

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to compare the General Soccer ability (volleying Skill) by using Mcdonald Soccer Test between high fit tribal and high fit non-tribal soccer players. Ninety, high fit tribal Soccer players out of two hundred and seventy, 9th and 10th grade school level tribal Soccer players as well as ninety, high fit non-tribal Soccer players out of two hundred and seventy, 9th and 10th grade school level non-tribal Soccer players from Ergoda School parihati and Sevabharati Sikhayatan Kapgari of Paschim Medinipur, District of West Bengal were randomly selected as the tribal as well as non-tribal subjects for this study. To ascertain the high fit tribal as well as high fit non-tribal Soccer players, the AAHPER Youth Fitness Test was administered for two hundred and seventy tribal as well as two hundred and seventy non-tribal Soccer players separately in accordance with the instructions given in the test manual. All the test item-scores of each subject under each tribal as well as non-tribal Soccer players categories were  converted to standard scores which were added together to arrive at composite physical fitness scores. Thereafter on the basis of composite physical fitness scores, the subjects under each tribal as well as non-tribal category were ranked separately highest to lowest. Top ninety under each tribal as well as non-tribal categories were studied as high fit tribal as well as high fit non-tribal Soccer players. To ensure the significant difference between high fit tribal and high fit non-tribal soccer players in general soccer ability by using Mcdonald Soccer Test, ‘t’ ratio were applied. The results of this study showed significant difference between high fit tribal Soccer and high fit non-tribal Soccer in General Soccer Ability by using Mcdonald Soccer Test where high fit tribal soccer players were found better.
